First Look: Springsteen: Deliver Me from Nowhere

We’ve just caught our first real glimpse of the upcoming Bruce Springsteen biopic, Springsteen: Deliver Me from Nowhere. The official trailer landed today on 20th Century Studios’ YouTube channel, revealing the film’s full title and premiere date: October 24, 2025.

Jeremy Allen White as “The Boss”

In this highly anticipated drama, The Bear star Jeremy Allen White steps into Springsteen’s shoes, bringing to life the making of the 1982 acoustic masterpiece, Nebraska. The preview opens with White as Bruce, setting up a microphone in his New Jersey bedroom. Alongside him is Mike Batlan—Springsteen’s real-life recording engineer and guitar tech—portrayed by Paul Walter Hauser.

As the two prepare to record, Bruce quips to Mike, “Don’t need to be perfect. I want it to feel like I’m in the room by myself.” That intimate moment leads directly into a powerful onstage sequence: White and the E Street Band launching into “Born to Run,” reminding us of the Boss’s enduring live energy.

Scenes That Define the Story

The trailer kicks off with a lighthearted moment at a car dealership, where a salesman admits, “I do know who you are,” only to receive Springsteen’s deadpan reply, “Well, that makes one of us.” Interspersed are striking black-and-white flashbacks of Bruce’s childhood—most notably, a tense interaction that hints at his complicated relationship with his father.

Jon Landau’s Voice—and Vision

Running throughout most of the trailer is a voice-over by Jeremy Strong as Springsteen’s longtime manager, Jon Landau. In one compelling exchange, Landau addresses a skeptical record executive:

“This is not about either one of us. … This is not about the charts. This is about Bruce Springsteen. And these are the songs that he wants to work on right now.”

He then shares a vivid childhood metaphor: Bruce grew up with a “hole in the floor of his bedroom”—a gap he’s spent his life trying to repair. Through Nebraska, Landau explains, Springsteen is repairing that hole in himself—and, ultimately, hopes to repair the world.

Emotional Montage

The trailer weaves together intimate vignettes: a young Bruce reluctantly learning to box with his father, dancing with his mother, and later, tender moments with a girlfriend. We also glimpse him confronting his dad in a bar and meticulously crafting lyrics in solitude. As the preview nears its end, Bruce confides to Landau, “I’m trying to find something real in all the noise,” and Landau reassures him, “You always do.”

It’s the perfect bridge into that electrifying concert footage—a reminder of why Springsteen’s music resonates so deeply.
