First Look: Springsteen’s New Biopic ‘Deliver Me from Nowhere’
We finally have a glimpse of Springsteen: Deliver Me from Nowhere, the much-anticipated Bruce Springsteen biographical film. The official trailer has landed on 20th Century Studios’ YouTube channel, and it confirms the movie’s premiere date—October 24, 2025.
Jeremy Allen White as “The Boss”
In this intimate preview, Jeremy Allen White—fresh from The Bear—inhabits the role of Bruce Springsteen. The film zeroes in on the creation of Nebraska, Springsteen’s stark, acoustic 1982 album that redefined his sound and legacy. We see White as Springsteen tinkering in his New Jersey bedroom, working with his recording engineer and guitar tech, Mike Batlan (played by Paul Walter Hauser). “Don’t need to be perfect,” Springsteen tells Batlan, “I want it to feel like I’m in the room by myself.”
Moments of Childhood and Family
Interspersed are grainy, black-and-white flashbacks of a young Bruce: moments with his father, gentle dances with his mother, and the tensions of a household that shaped his artistry. One snippet even hints at the complicated bond between Bruce and his dad—a tension that underlies much of Nebraska’s raw emotion.
Jon Landau’s Defining Monologue
Jeremy Strong lends his voice to longtime manager Jon Landau in a powerful voice-over. Addressing skeptical record executives, Landau declares:
“This isn’t about charts or sales. It’s about Bruce Springsteen. He needs to make these songs right now.”
“When Bruce was little, he had a hole in the floor of his bedroom. He’s spent his life repairing that hole—and now he’s repairing himself. And once that’s done, he’ll help repair the world.”
As his words unfold, we watch Bruce confront his past—boxing with his father, sharing tender moments with his mother, and wrestling with his own identity.
Born to Run on the Big Screen
The trailer closes with White and the E Street Band belting out “Born to Run,” reminding us that Springsteen’s greatest gift has always been his ability to make us feel alive.
About the Production
Directed by Scott Cooper and co-written with author Warren Zanes (whose 2023 book inspired the screenplay), Springsteen: Deliver Me from Nowhere boasts a stellar ensemble. Alongside White and Strong, you’ll see Stephen Graham as Bruce’s father Doug, Odessa Young as Faye—Bruce’s early love interest—Gaby Hoffmann as Adele Springsteen, and Marc Maron as producer Chuck Plotkin. Both Springsteen and Landau served as executive producers, ensuring the film rings true to the legend himself.
Mothers never stop caring. And some songs never stop mattering.
